Why it worked

Three things,
none of them luck.

01

It was culturally timed.

The end of the World Cup is a moment a whole community is feeling at once. The video borrowed attention that already existed instead of manufacturing it.

02

It was in his own language.

Speaking Farsi to a Farsi-speaking Toronto audience concentrated the reach instead of shrinking it. It landed hard with one community, and that engagement pushed it out to everyone else.

03

It was actually funny.

Not brand-funny. He was genuinely amused, and audiences can tell a person having a personality from a professional performing one.

People hire the agent they feel they know. A video with no property in it can do the listing video's job, earlier and at a far bigger scale.
