Short-form video agency · Toronto

A short-form video agency
in Toronto that plans on data.

Viterno Group is a short-form video agency in Toronto. We plan, film, edit and post Instagram Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts for Toronto and GTA businesses. One on-location shoot day a month produces 12 to 16 finished vertical videos, and every one is measured against your own account's median. Client videos we have made have passed 300 million organic views, including 23.6 million on a single Reel.

Short-form means vertical video under about three minutes, made for the feed rather than for your website. The hard part is not the camera, it is deciding what to make, so that is where we spend the effort. Every client video is on our case studies with its real view count, and our comparison of Toronto agencies sets out who else does this and who each one suits.

Short-form agency or video production company?

One polished film,
or a month of feed.

What a production company usually makes

One brand film or commercial: days of pre-production, a crew, a polished cut that lives on your website and in ads. Excellent when you need that one piece, and it is seen as often as you pay to show it.

It is judged on how it looks. Whether a stranger stops scrolling in the first two seconds is not part of the brief.

What a short-form agency makes

Twelve to sixteen vertical videos from one shoot day, built for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, posted on a schedule and judged on whether people outside your followers watched.

The ideas come first. We plan from what is beating its own median in your industry this week, which is why the same dealership, team and account could produce four videos 189 times apart.

How a Toronto shoot runs

From idea
to posted.

  1. Ideas from data

Trend Radar, our weekly feed of real outliers by industry, shows what is beating its own median right now. Weak ideas are cut before anyone books a day. The patterns are public in our hook library.

  2. A shot list per video

Every video has its hook, shots, on-screen text and timing written down and approved by you before the day, so the shoot has no guessing.

  3. Locations, sorted early

Most business shoots stay on private property, which needs no City of Toronto film permit between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.; 14 of the 18 videos in our case studies were filmed that way. If an idea needs a street, sidewalk, park or the TTC, we flag it before the day. The rules are in our Toronto film permit guide.

  4. One shoot day

Director, camera and sound at your listing, showroom, storefront or venue. A single day produces 12 to 16 finished vertical videos. No acting experience needed.

  5. Edited and captioned

First drafts within 48 hours, cut for the opening two seconds and captioned for people watching with the sound off, which also helps with Ontario's AODA caption rules when a video goes on your website.

  6. Posted and measured

Published to Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, then compared with your own median in the client portal, so you see what worked and what we make next.

What is a short-form video agency?

An agency that makes vertical videos under about three minutes for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, and usually decides what to make, films it, edits it and posts it. It differs from a video production company, which typically makes one longer polished piece, and from a social media manager, who schedules and posts but may not film.

What is the best short-form video agency in Toronto?

The best one for you can show results on real accounts in your industry and explain how it decides whether a video worked. Viterno Group publishes its view counts, including 23.6 million on one Reel, all organic, and about nine in ten of our clients are in real estate. Our comparison of thirteen GTA agencies sets out who each one is built for.

How much does a short-form video agency cost in Toronto?

Done-for-you short-form video from a Toronto agency typically runs about $2,000 to $12,000+ a month, depending on how many videos, shoot days and platforms are included, and a freelance editor charges roughly $40 to $120 per edited video. Our Toronto cost guide breaks the market down. Viterno Group scopes each client on a discovery call rather than publishing a rate card.

How many videos do we get each month?

With Viterno Group, one shoot day usually produces 12 to 16 finished videos, and one shoot day a month is the usual rhythm. The exact number is set on the discovery call.

Do you need a permit to film business videos in Toronto?

Not if all filming and production parking stay on private property, with the owner's permission, between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Streets and sidewalks need a City permit, parks need a Parks permit, and every permit needs $2 million liability insurance naming the City. Details in our Toronto film permit guide.

Do our videos need captions in Ontario?

If your organization has 50 or more employees, the AODA requires your public website content to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, which means captions on pre-recorded video posted there. We caption every video anyway, because many people watch with the sound off. The rules are in our AODA captions guide.

How long should a short-form video be?

As long as the idea needs. When we timed 116 viral business TikToks, length and performance had almost no relationship; the winners were either one beat under 30 seconds or a full story over a minute. See how long a business TikTok should be.

Where in Toronto do you film?

Wherever your business is. Our case studies were shot at Aqualuna on the Toronto waterfront, Canada House downtown, a custom home in the Beaches, VIP Exchange on Yonge Street in North York and Yorkdale Fine Cars in Vaughan. More on where we film across the GTA.

Do you make short-form videos in Farsi?

Yes. We produce in English and Farsi, and the Aqualuna condo on the Toronto waterfront is in our case studies in both languages. See our Farsi page.

Do you run ads?

No. Every result we publish is organic. Paid distribution can extend a video that already works, but it cannot rescue a weak one, and we would rather be judged on reach nobody paid for.

Do you only work in Toronto?

Viterno Group works in Toronto and Los Angeles. In the Toronto area we film across the GTA, including Vaughan, North York and the waterfront. See Viterno Group Los Angeles for LA.
